WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ARK OF THE COVENANT? Where it is currently?

The Ark of the Covenant was a chest described in the Bible as containing the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments. According to the Bible, the Ark had immense significance to the Israelites. However, its whereabouts and fate have been lost to history. There are a few theories about what happened to it:

  • It was destroyed when the Babylonians sacked Jerusalem in 587 BCE. Some believe the Ark was taken from the Temple during this attack and destroyed or melted down.
  • It is hidden somewhere in an underground chamber beneath where the Temple stood. When the Babylonians attacked, some believe the Ark was hidden away in a secret cave or tunnel, the location of which has been lost. Numerous excavations near Temple Mount have searched but not found proof of this theory.
  • It's in Ethiopia. The Ethiopian Orthodox church claims the Ark was moved to Ethiopia in the 10th century BCE for safekeeping, first to the island of Tana Kirkos on Lake Tana, then eventually to the St. Mary of Zion cathedral in Aksum where it allegedly resides today. Only one guardian is allowed to see it at a time. Many discount this theory as it has not been substantiated.
  • It no longer exists. Some scholars believe the Ark was most likely destroyed long ago given the number of invasions and regime changes Jerusalem underwent. Records of the Ark disappear after the Babylonian invasion leading to the belief it was gone by 586 BCE.

In the end, given the lack of archeological or definitive historical evidence, what became of the Ark remains one of history's enduring mysteries. Its absence continues to fascinate both religious scholars and popular culture.

THE UNSEEN ARCHITECT. (HEBREWS 11:10).

A braham lived in tents, a nomad in the land promised to him. He never saw a city, a foundation, or a permanent structure that was his own. His entire life was spent looking forward, dwelling in temporary shelters. Yet, the scripture says he was looking for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. His faith was not in the tangible, not in the immediate possession of the land, but in the character and promise of the One who cannot lie. He trusted the Architect's blueprint more than his own eyesight. Is it not happening even now?. We often grow impatient waiting for God's promises. We look at the "tents" of our current circumstances—our struggles, delays, and temporary situations—and we despair, wondering if God has forgotten. But faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). It is trusting that the Unseen Architect is building something eternal, something with unshakable foundations, even w...

Keep your lamp filled with oil. The King of kings is coming. - Matthew 25;1-13

Let's break down this powerful passage from the Bible, Matthew 25:1-13, known as the "Parable of the Ten Virgins." Even if you're not Christian, the core message here is about readiness, responsibility, and the consequences of procrastination , which are universal truths. First, what's a "parable"? Think of it as a story Jesus told to explain a deep spiritual truth in a simple, relatable way. He used everyday situations people understood to teach big ideas about God and life. The Story: The Wedding Party Imagine an ancient Middle Eastern wedding. It was a huge celebration, often lasting for days! The climax was when the bridegroom would come at night to collect his bride, bringing her to his house for a grand feast. In this story, ten young women (often called virgins, but think of them more like bridesmaids) are waiting for the bridegroom to arrive. Their job is to join the procession with their lamps lit to welcome him and guide the way to the feast...
